In the heart of Trentino, at the foot of the most beautiful mountains in the world, the Dolomites, was born the Green Way Primiero project.
Green Way Primiero is a way of life, a unique lifestyle that the entire community of Primiero San Martino di Castrozza has chosen to embrace, to promote a territory at the apex of environmental excellence. In doing so, the entire area is committed to developing innovative projects in the energy sector, reducing combustible fossil fuels, improving mobility and caring for the landscape in a broad sense. All this to ensure the improved quality of life of local residents, which also translates into a way of doing tourism.
Living with a low ecological impact is possible and above all a reality, as demonstrated by our territory, through a string of firm actions and focused decisions, with complete respect for a unique environment, confirmed by the acknowledgement of the Pala Group as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites.
Facilities and businesses displaying the Green Way Primiero brand put environmental, social and economic quality first. A special policy document summarises the various requisites tied to environmental and functional aspects, allowing the brand to be granted.
The energy distributed in the Primiero Valley comes from 100% renewable sources. Also the domestic heating system is produced for the 80% from wood biomass with a modern distric heating system.
Thank you to renewable sources, active and concrete care for energy saving and recovery and the creation of a sustainable mobility with zero environmental impact, the Primiero Valley is proud to be the first region of Italy with no environmental impact.

We have 100% electricity and heating coming from renewable sources. We are lucky to live here and to enjoy our wonderful mountains.
A little action can change the world. For this reason we work hard for the environment sustainability with eco-friendly actions and behaviours:
- use of typical local products and the valorisation of the local and 0 km food tradition
- reduced light pollution (energy-saving light bulbs, automatic shutdown, motion detector)
- reduction, reuse, recycling and suitable disposal of waste
- quite all the rooms have key card to open the door (after 2 minutes you have taken it off, the electricity shuts down)
- encouragement of sustainable and/or low environmental impact transport (city bikes and e-bikes rental, and car charging station for free)
- in our menus there is always a vegetarian choice
- at the bar we use biodegradable glasses, dishes, cutlery and straws
- at the restaurant we serve filtered water in glass bottles
- in every shower we put a liquid soap dispenser
- we change the bed linen and towels only on guests’ request (in order to minimised water and energy consumption)
- in order to minimised plastic use, we give guests wellness flip-flops for free only on request
